My husband and I met Donnellyn months before getting pregnant. He knew right away that she would be the one to deliver our baby when it was time (we didn't even live in Texas at the time). From the first call I made to tell her I was pregnant she has been the biggest help and advocate. Our experience through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum has been better than I ever could have asked for. Donnellyn is always available day or night for whatever is needed (including a chill pill or a good laugh). She helped make the whole pregnancy wonderful and easy for both my husband and I. I am happy that my sweet baby girl will always have such a wonderful woman in her life.

Where to begin? Donnellyn Dominguez knows her stuff! She has been such a blessing to our family. We had our first child "naturally" at a hospital, and decided that atmosphere was not what we wanted for our subsequent pregnancies. My OB was very nice and willing to work with us to achieve our natural childbirth. That being said, as my OB didn't show up until it was time to "catch" the baby, we still had to fight tooth and nail at the delivery to stop unnecessary invasive procedures from the rest of the hospital staff. Because my OB missed obvious signs for a highly preventable medical issue, I ended up bedridden and tethered to an IV stand with blood pressure cuffs and pulse ox sensors all over me. The nurses continually pestered me to get an epidural, which I continually refused. They finally let me lay in my hospital bed to fight through my painful contractions unassisted. It was awful. Even though my husband was there, we felt like we had gone through the procedure alone. When we got pregnant the second time, we knew we didn't want to go through that again.
Enter Donnellyn!
We found Donnellyn while searching around online for midwives in the DFW area. We had looked around for awhile, but settled on Donnellyn as soon as we met her. Aside from being highly trained and extremely knowledgeable in her field, Donnellyn also has the warmest personality of anyone I've met! Almost instantly I felt like I was a part of her family! As a Christian, I was also reassured by her steadfast faith in the Lord.
I also learned more about the importance of proper nutrition and exercise while pregnant. While most everyone knows these things are important, not everyone goes the extra mile to provide literature and guides to make good choices easier.
Donnellyn never takes chances when it comes to her client's health. Anytime I had a question, she was very clear that I could call her day or night, not just "from 8AM-4pm M-F". When we had a questionable ultrasound, she immediately booked an appointment with a highly sought after OB to get his professional opinion. After he gave me the "all clear," she booked another appointment with an ultrasound specialist with over 20 years experience for a second opinion.
Donnellyn was by far more thorough than any OB I ever saw during my first pregnancy. In my opinion, she has perfected the art of being thorough without being invasive. I always felt like we were partners working toward the same goal, instead of a "patient" that was expected to sit idly by as someone else made decisions about my body and my baby.
Sadly, I was unable to achieve my goal of having a home birth, because we went into 8 weeks early pre-term labor. I got sick and had a fever that I didn't think much about, so (against Donnellyn's warnings) I didn't worry about it. I thought it too mundane to bother with, but thanks to Donnellyn's ability to preform under pressure, she was able to get to my home, asses the situation and get me to a hospital with a NICU before the baby was born. Because she was unwilling to take chances with my baby's health, as well as my own, my daughter is now a happy, healthy 5 month old. Things could have been very different had Donnellyn not been as skilled and determined as she is. She even stayed with me the whole time I was in delivery, coaching me on how to breathe so less interventions would have to be made.
We will definitely have Donnellyn as our Midwife again in the future. I absolutely trust her judgement, and her skills. She is a wonderful woman that will serve many mommies well. I only hope I have the honor of being one of those mommies again someday!!

When we found out we were pregnant with our 3rd child, we knew that we wanted another natural birth. After having our daughter at a birthing center, we knew that natural is the absolute best way to go. After doing a lot of research, we decided on a home water birth with Donnellyn. What we did not know or expect was the unbelievably loving and knowledgable care we received from her. There is no doubt that God has placed Donnellyn on this earth to deliver babies and take care of Mommies! Her passion and love for what she does shows in her incredible knowledge of every aspect of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.
Donnellyn really helped me achieve the most beautiful labor and delivery. Her gentle words helped me through every minute. We feel so blessed and grateful to have been able to share this most intimate and spiritual experience with her. She is an angel...there is no doubt about it.

My experience with Donnellyn was an awesome one. She helped me achieve my goal of a second home VBAC. Donnellyn is warm and inviting, and I feel like part of her family. She is extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do at any moment of my pregnancy and birth. She allowed me the freedom to make my own choices.
I have experienced both a hospital birth and now two home births. My first birth experience was very scary. After laboring naturally for over 12 hours on my back the doctor decided that I was not progressing at his pace and fooled my husband and me into going through a C-Section. This was a big mistake. Not only was recovering from the surgery extremely painful, but it lasted for months. It left me depressed and confused about how to properly mother my new baby.
My second birth was at our home and had no complications. It was the most amazing experience. I had run my marathon and won!
My third birth with Donnellyn was just as miraculous as my second. It was so exciting to find out at birth that we had just been blessed with our first little girl. Another marathon achieved! Donnellyn did a magnificent job of ensuring that the baby and I were well and well cared for before and after the birth.
I encourage any healthy woman to explore the amazing adventure of natural childbirth. It is the passage from girlhood to womanhood. There is no other experience like it! If the Lord blesses us with any more we will definitely use Donnellyn again.

When we first got pregnant we never thought twice about having our baby delivered in the hospital. From the beginning I didn't want medication or interventions though. So after many months of research and talking to others about their birth experience my husband and I decided to use a midwife for our birth experience at home. We were not disappointed. It was wonderful to see my husband participate and have my father present to take pictures. Being at home proved to be a comfortable atmosphere where I could eat, drink and move around as I needed. Donnellyn's knowledge and expertise, accompanied by her calm and comforting demeanor assured us that we had made the best choice on how to bring our first born into this world. This birth was more beautiful than we had planned and prayed for.
After months of research my husband and I decided to use a midwife for the birth of our first child. We choose the comfort of our own home since the procedures would be the same as at a birth center. I was amazed how uncomplicated the preparation was for the upcoming event. It was easier than trying to figure out what to pack in a hospital bag! During labor I was able to eat, drink and move about as I needed to. A very special feature to me was the participation of my husband and father. Throughout I had constant attention and monitoring from knowledgeable and experienced women in an unobtrusive way. And after this beautiful birth, our precious baby was never removed from our sight. I was amazed after the baby and I returned from bathing that the whole house looked as though it did before the arrival of our Midwife. It was probably the biggest stress free, enjoyable life changing event we have ever experienced. Thank you Donnellyn for the most beautiful, meaningful family bonding experience we could have ever dreamed of!

Esme was our third natural birth and first water baby. Every birth story is different, and Esme’s was definitely a splashing success. Mommy says that she was the easiest of the three, no doubt thanks to the water and her previous experience birthing. Within the comfort of our own bedroom and expert midwife care, we enjoyed the adrenaline rush and intensity of labor mixed with the joy and anticipation of Heavenly Father’s next miracle in our lives.

I was so happy and blessed with my home birth experience using Donnellyn! During my entire pregnancy she was there for me and when I had questions or concerns she treated me as her only client. I loved knowing she had or would find the answer to any questions I had along the way and respected every wish I had. She encouraged me during the birth and helped me stay strong. I had a very long birth and was ready to give up many times but Donnellyn kept encouraging me and offering advice to keep things moving. I love the relationship she has with my baby girl now!
